I love the expression, “The EARTH without ART is just EH.”
It emphasizes how art enhances and enriches our lives— But in my case, art is more than just decorative or entertaining. It has provided a means to express myself, to communicate, to create, to heal, and to explore my dreams and the trifling ideas floating around in my head. It has fundamentally defined who I am, and will always be an important part of my life.
Jenny Lee’s Jottings is a blog devoted to all of my creative endeavors (except knitting, which has its own dedicated blog, knittingnandu.wordpress.com). Please feel free to browse my work, and especially to leave comments. As personal and intimate as art is to me, I also embrace (and miss) the collaborative and energizing aspect of discussing and exploring art with other people, whether it be fellow artists or art admirers.
Although I don’t believe making art is the same as a tree falling in an empty forest (i.e. I’m sure art does make a sound, in that it still holds meaning and is part of the creative process), I still think there are enormous gains to sharing it with others– so please enjoy and let me know what you think!

Yeah, isn’t it a great quote? It’s like the bumper sticker version of “…art…It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival” by C. S. Lewis.
